The Almeida Family Company library — a shelf of storybook covers beneath the company name

Stories children grow up with.
Lessons that stay for life.

Almeida Family Company is a family story, education and entertainment company. We create memorable characters children look up to, and worlds they can step into again and again — stories made by a father for his children, Gabriel and Ariella, and for little learners everywhere.

Characters first. Stories forever.

OUR FAMILY, YOUR FAMILY

Built at One Family’s Table

Every Almeida Family Company story begins the same way: a father reading to his children, and refusing to let the moment end when the book closes. So the characters kept going — across continents, through holidays, under the sea and out to the stars — carrying real facts, real places, and the kind of lessons a child keeps for life: curiosity, courage, kindness, and never giving up on a dream.

“Dedicated to Gabriel and Ariella — the foundation of the Almeida Family Company — and to all little learners. May they always have access to education as well as entertainment.”

THE DEDICATION IN EVERY BOOK

MEET THE CHARACTERS

Friends for Life

Great stories start with characters a child never forgets — the kind they root for, learn from, and carry with them as they grow.

THE FLAGSHIP CHARACTER

Douglas

Douglas is a dung beetle with the biggest job in the world: roll his ball across every continent on Earth — and learn something true in every place he stops. He is small. The world is enormous. He rolls anyway.

Along the way Douglas teaches geography the way children actually learn it — by going there. Real countries, real landmarks, real animals, and a flag earned in every stop. His lesson is the one at the heart of this company: you do not have to be big to do something big. You just have to keep rolling.

Douglas stars in The Beetle and the Ball — his continent adventures, his holiday specials, and his journeys into legend.

ARRIVING IN THE WORLD SOON

Wellington

A little worm who dreams of wings. Wellington’s friends never laugh at the dream — they help him build it. A story about imagination, friendship, and becoming yourself.

THE WORLD KEEPS GROWING

Gabriel & Ariella

The brother and sister at the heart of the family step into the stories themselves — first flights, first adventures, and a big brother who explains the holidays to his little sister, one celebration at a time.

CHARACTER SLOT

Who’s Next?

New characters are being created at the family table right now — each one built to be loved for a lifetime, not a season. Watch this space: the family is growing.

And from the Little Explorers worlds — a whole garden, meadow, and ocean of animal friends:

BEARS OF THE WORLD

The Bear Family

Eight bears from four continents — the polar, the panda, the grizzly and all their cousins — each with a home, a habitat, and a favorite snack.

BUTTERFLIES OF THE WORLD

The Butterfly Garden

Monarchs, blue morphos, swallowtails and painted ladies — a garden that flies, in full color.

PENGUINS OF THE WORLD

The Penguin Parade

Penguins from the world’s cold edges, waddling through their first facts — dressed for every occasion.

SNAKES OF THE WORLD

The Friendly Snakes

Rita the rattlesnake shakes her tiny maraca tail. Every snake in this garden is a friend — gentle, giggling, and not a bit scary.

OUR STORIES

Worlds to Grow Up In

Four story worlds, one growing universe — with characters who visit each other’s adventures, the way old friends do.

THE BEETLE AND THE BALL

Douglas’s Continent Adventures

Thirteen journeys across the whole map: South America, North America, the Caribbean, Europe, Africa, Asia, Oceania, Antarctica, the Hidden Islands, the Oceans, the Seven Seas — and Space itself.

DOUGLAS AND THE LEGENDS

Where Stories Become Legends

Douglas rolls beyond the map into the world of legend — beginning in Salem, where history and mystery share the same streets. Tall tales, true places, and the courage to explore both.
